The Mommy Archives is organizing a Family Dance Party on Sunday, November 8, from 3–6 PM at Moxy Williamsburg, aiming to unite more than 200 NYC parents and children for an afternoon of music, dancing, and family-friendly activities. The event matters because it transforms a community gathering into tangible support for local organizations serving families in need. Net proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Single Moms of Brooklyn, while family brand Nuna will donate $5,000 worth of products to Room to Grow, extending the event's impact beyond attendees.
The initiative reflects The Mommy Archives' broader mission of building community for NYC parents and creating opportunities to support organizations that serve families across the city. Single Moms of Brooklyn empowers single mothers by providing emotional support, community, and resources. Room to Grow is a nonprofit that works with families experiencing poverty during the critical first three years of a child's life. Both organizations have played a meaningful role in the journey of Jules Ferdowsi, founder of The Mommy Archives, as a solo parent.
Ferdowsi emphasized that the event is designed to be more than just a fun afternoon. "Community is at the heart of everything we do at The Mommy Archives, and I know firsthand how important it is for parents to have a community they can turn to," she said. "It was important to me that bringing families together could also directly support other parents and children. Single Moms of Brooklyn is especially meaningful to me personally as a member of the organization, and I'm excited to be able to give back to a community that has meant so much to me."
The event's implications extend beyond fundraising. By partnering with Nuna and Moxy Williamsburg, The Mommy Archives is demonstrating how local businesses and community groups can collaborate to address family needs. Moxy Williamsburg is hosting the event at its Bar Bedford Garden, which will feature a DJ, photo booth, face painting, crafts, glitter tattoos, games, and other activities. The gathering is designed to foster connections among parents while raising funds for Single Moms of Brooklyn and providing products for Room to Grow.
