A 38-year-old woman has received a $1.925 million settlement following a slip and fall on a wet and slippery staircase in her New York building, as announced by her legal representatives at David Resnick & Associates, P.C. They also asserted that they did not create the wet conditions and lacked notice of them. However, Monier was prepared to call medical and economic experts to demonstrate the extent of the woman's injuries and their long-term impact on her life.
“When an accident happens as a result of someone's negligence or failure to use reasonable care, the injured party deserves to be fully compensated not only for what that person has gone through since the date of the accident, but also for what the person will go through in the future, for the rest of that person's life,” Monier said. “The proceeds from this settlement will help our client deal with her continuing pain and functional difficulties.”
